Scams, passwords, and what to do when something feels off.
If a caller pushes you to act right now, asks for gift cards or codes, or says they're your bank or the government and need money, it's a scam. Hang up, then call the company yourself using the number on your card or statement.
First, stop all contact with the scammer and don't send anything more. Then call your bank or card company to stop the payment, change the password on the affected account, and tell someone you trust. Acting fast matters more than getting every step perfect.
